Tell us the agency, the state, and the records.

Anyone may ask. Every request is reviewed and approved before it goes anywhere. If the state takes requests from anyone, the Exchange sends it. If the state limits requests to its own residents, a member with standing there carries it in their name, copied on everything. Either way the request, the responses and the documents are logged, and the documents obtained are public.

Every request is approved by a person before it reaches the board or a member — public-interest requests only; no fishing on private individuals. The statute and response deadline are filled in from the state. The campaign pays any copying fee; no member is ever obligated to one.
