End School Corporal Punishment

Privacy

What this site records, why, and how to opt out. Plain words, no popup.

What we record

This site is a public record of school district policy. It has no accounts and no logins. When you visit, our web host keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested). If you arrive through a link in an email we sent you, that link carries a short tag so we can tell which district or office the visit came from; the tag is stored in your browser for the session and the visit is written to our own log. The tag maps to a district and a recipient on our side only; it never contains a name or an email address.

The Behavior Coach

The Behavior Coach is anonymous by design. It never asks for a child's name, a school's name or anything that identifies a person, and it asks you not to type them. What you type is sent to the model that writes the replies (through OpenRouter, to Anthropic's Claude) to produce that reply, and is not stored by us: the conversation lives in your browser tab and is gone when you close it. Our server keeps one line per reply with the time, the length and the cost, and a per-day count under a one-way code made from your address that changes every day, so that one visitor cannot use the whole day's budget. There is no account and no login.

Advertising and analytics tags

Pages may load the Meta Pixel, the Google tag (Google Analytics and Google Ads) and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. They set cookies and report page views to those companies, which lets us measure the site and show advertisements about school corporal punishment to people who have visited it. We do not send them names, email addresses or anything you type. Each company's own policy governs what it does with the data: Meta, Google, LinkedIn.

How to opt out

Petitions, uploads and emails

If you sign the petition, send a video, or write to us, we keep what you sent and use it only for this project. We do not sell or share lists. Districts' own policies and the names of their officials are public records and stay on the record.
