End School Corporal Punishment

Five things you can do today

Your agent reads policies. These are the things only a person can do, and each takes about five minutes.

1

Sign the petition

One national petition to Congress and the Department of Education, and one for each state that still permits it. … signatures so far

We keep your name and email to count you once and to tell you when your state moves. Nothing else.

2

Lend your standing

Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, Delaware answer public-records requests only from their own residents. If you live in one of them, a request for a district's policy can be made in your name; you are copied on everything and sign nothing.

3

Pick up a document

Some districts will hand over their policy only in person at the district office. If you live nearby, pick it up, photograph every page with your phone, and email the photos to anthony@175g.com. We cover copying charges and send a thank-you.

4

Share the record

Every state and district page is built to be shared: the number, the quote, the source. The share kit has a post and an image for each audience.

5

Know a reporter?

Local reporters cover this when it is their district and the quote is on the page. Send them the state page and one line: "Here is every district in our county, in its own words." If you have a contact at an outlet, introduce us.
